Strawberry Shortcakes


Ingredients

  • 2 ⅓ cups Baking Mix (e.g. Bisquick)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 425° F.

Mix ingredients in a bowl.  Pour into a muffin tray sprayed with Pam or form into small cakes on a cookie sheet lined with foil.

Bake at 425° for 10 to 20 minutes.  It should be done a few minutes after the edges start to brown.  Remove from oven and cool for 5-10 minutes else the shortcakes will crumble.
Shortcakes straight from the oven
Makes 6-9 servings depending on the size you prefer.

Serving Suggestion

Top warmed shortcakes with crushed berries, sugar and/or whipped cream.
