Excessive anything can be bad. Modesty is always a good practice. Do not load your pages with useless technology and large images.2 Please avoid sloppily written Applets, ActiveX controls, and/or Plugins. Granted, it will be cool for about 2 minutes. At least, it will be cool after the system recovers from the shock. Watch yourself if you have a high-speed system. I am using a Pentium Pro 166 MHz machine, 32 MB RAM, 33.6Kbps modem, and Video Accelerator. I could easily put something that looks great on my system while it kills a 486. I keep a 486 around to check myself on when I do use something that I suspect to be system intensive.
